Portraits are ready-made visuals that move to your beat, so you don’t need footage. Upload a beat (MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC or FLAC), pick one of 19 looks, choose a 15- or 30-second section, add an optional title, and export an MP4. If you have clips, the regular Cascade flow cuts them to your beat instead.

Export the MP4 and post it in Instagram. Cascade doesn’t post to Instagram for you.

Editors give you a blank timeline. Cascade cuts your clips to your beat in a video style you pick, or gives you ready-made Portraits looks when you have no footage. A video style is optional but the best way to get the cut you mean: upload it as a video file (MP4 or MOV), for example one you saved from TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Pasting a link is not supported, and matching is strongest when the reference has clear cuts. Without one, Cascade still builds beat-synced edits from your footage.

No. You bring the beat, and your footage if you use it. Cascade cuts your clips into ready-to-post reels, or pairs your beat with a Portraits look. It does not replicate or replace your audio or art.
